‘Petrochemical China’ is an artist’s response to the rapid industrialization and urbanization of his country, looking from within and telling the true story to the outer world. Contained in this body of work is a universal chronicle that applies to the broader world.

Ronghui Chen holds a Yale MFA and he has won numerous accolades that include World Press Photo Award and BarTur Photo Award. His primary concern is the ‘position of the individual within urbanization’, weaving intimate stories to tell the viewers.
